How does SA Couples work?

SA Couples is a social networking web site, a bit like Facebook, catering for the South African swinging community.  Use SA Couples to network with likeminded people, befriend them and communicate with them and when everyone is comfortable, arrange to meet at a neutral venue.

I have registered, whats next?

Once you have registered and completed your profile, it's time to start attracting attention and communicating with fellow members.  Start off by adding a photo album, include only recent pictures, those pictures taken 10 years ago, might bring back fond memories, but in the lifestyle, we would see it as misrepresentation.  SA Couples also allows you to add videos, blogs, groups and events.

Where do I access my blog?

To start using the blog feature, you first need to add it to your profile.  See the question below, "What are Applications, how do I use them", for more information on this.

Why don't I have a Wall on my profile?

To start using the Wall feature, you first need to add it to your profile.  See the question below, "What are Applications, how do I use them", for more information on this.

Why don't my latest pictures show on my profile?

To show your most recent photographs, you first need to add it to your profile.  See the question below, "What are Applications, how do I use them", for more information on this.

What are Applications, how do I use these?

Applications are bits of functionality that is not part of the core web site.  These have been added in to provide you with more options and a better chance of networking with the right people.  Before you can use these, you need to add them, by clicking on the Applications > My Applications tab and then on Add Applications link.  We suggest you add the Wall and My Blog applications to the main section of the page and Latest Photo's to the right hand column.

What does Points refer to on my profile?

To encourage social networking, SA Couples rewards you for your participation, the more you do, whether it is sending out messages, adding photos, or anything else for that matter.  The points are linked to your membership status indicator.  The more points, the higher your status.

How does the search work?

This is probably the most advanced search facility in the industry, you can search on every profile field, or any combination of profile fields. In the left hand drop down, select a field that you wish to search, see screen capture below:

Where is the chat and how does it work?

The chat feature is located at the bottom of your page, it is a grey bar, similar to Facebook chat.  We offer both private one on one, private group and public chat.  To start a private one on one chat, click on the "who's online", bottom right of your screen, then click on the profile name you wish to chat to, a new window will popup and you can start chatting.  Note all the icons at the top of the chat window, you can send a file, save your chat an perform numerous other tasks.

To join a group chat, or to create your own private group chat room, click on the fifth icon from the left on the chat bar, bottom left, wait for the popup window to populate with the existing chat rooms and then either select a room or create a new one.
